16. – 30.07. 16 – 30.07. BASEhabitat International Summer School 2023 on earthen and bamboo construction
The Agricultural Education Center Salzkammergut is organizing a Summer School in July 2023 to promote clay and bamboo as sustainable building materials. The aim is to build a global network to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience. The Summer School offers architects, students, lecturers, craftsmen and –women and engineers from all over the world, the opportunity to learn about sustainable architecture and construction techniques using clay and bamboo.
Climate communities
Transdisciplinary development of climate-friendly model solutions for decarbonizing existing buildings in small and medium-sized municipalities. The application of the sample solutions can be easily identified using a web tool.
On the road to climate-neutral cities, there is a lack of concrete, climate-friendly refurbishment solutions that are widely applicable. Small and medium-sized municipalities in particular play a key role here: 60% of the Austrian population lives in municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants. Small municipalities have flatter decision-making structures and a more bundled distribution of competencies, and yet they must be able to implement innovative concepts for decarbonization in existing buildings.

The AEMS Summer University program offers international students and professionals from architecture, planning and engineering the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in the areas of passive house design, sustainable urban development, new energy technologies, innovative architecture and ecological design approaches.

The MEIDLINGER “L” exploratory study defines the project objective as the preparation of an urban neighborhood transformation in Rosaliagasse on Vienna’s Meidlinger Markt in order to make a local contribution to achieving the climate targets and to achieve climate change adaptation and improvement of the neighborhood situation together with the City of Vienna and the citizens as well as business and science.

The AEMS Summer University program offers motivated applicants from all fields of study the opportunity to explore alternatives to the existing economic status quo.
14.06. BIM regulars’ table on the topic of digital building inventory
The ecoplus Bau.Energie.Umwelt Cluster Niederösterreich invites to the 5th BIM Stammtisch on June 14, which is dedicated to the topic of digital building inventory. At the BIM Stammtisch, technology providers and users share their knowledge and experience – from the practical implementation of laser scanning to the generation of a BIM model. In addition, former project partners from cluster projects will show how they have successfully implemented BIM know-how in their own practice.

The aim of the R&D service is to gain insights into the obstacles and impediments to achieving the “climate neutrality of Austrian cities” target, to structure them and to prepare them in a publishable study. The study will focus on the areas of energy, buildings and mobility and contain recommendations for action on the necessary framework conditions and the need for change.
