On December 6, 2022, the EU Commission decided on the current calls for proposals for EU missions under Horizon Europe for 2023 – 2024. You can find the current work program here.
EU missions aim to address some of the biggest challenges facing our society. They are bold and inspiring with clear goals that are time-bound, realistic, measurable and targeted.
Five task areas were included in the Horizon Europe Regulation and implementation plans were developed for them. All five proposed EU missions are now being implemented and are reflected in the 2023 work program:
- Climate change adaptation: helping at least 150 European regions, local authorities and communities become climate resilient by 2030;
- Cancer: improving the lives of more than 3 million people by 2030 through prevention, cure, and a longer and better life for those affected by cancer and their families;
- 100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030;
- Restoring our oceans and waters by 2030;
- A Soil Deal for Europe: 100 living labs and lighthouses leading the transition to healthy soils by 2030.
As an innovation laboratory for climate-neutral refurbishment, we would like to draw your attention in particular to the following mission and are happy to provide advice, brainstorming and innovation development:
